Volunteer at the Haven

We love volunteers at the Haven! The majority of garden maintenance is done by volunteers: you are vital to our success. Volunteer tasks include routine garden maintenance such as planting, weeding, and mulching. Volunteers also do plant propagation and help at garden events. Once you have 20 hours of experience as a volunteer you may apply to be trained as a garden docent and lead tours.

You will work outside, learn about bees and bee habitat, and meet fellow bee-lovers. No experience required, but volunteers should be prepared to work in a variety of weather conditions and bend, stoop, and lift plants and tools. Volunteers must also be comfortable working around stinging insects. Haven volunteers do not learn beekeeping; if that’s your interest many local beekeeping clubs have programs to shadow experienced beekeepers.

We are not accepting volunteer applications at this time. Thank you for your interest.
